Wandr
UI/UX Design • 2025

WHO?
Curious travellers who want to experience local culture, not just visit popular sights.
WHAT?
WANDR is a cultural travel app that curates authentic experiences and personalised itineraries
WHY?
Because travel today prioritises convenience, leaving little room for meaningful connection.
HOW?
By combining local recommendations, cultural challenges, and a digital passport to collect memories

The information architecture was designed to prioritise cultural discovery while keeping navigation simple and intuitive. Content is organised around user intent such as exploring, planning, and reflecting so travellers can move through the app without feeling overwhelmed. This structure ensures that cultural experiences, challenges, and memories are easy to find and meaningful to engage with.

The colour palette balances warmth and exploration. Blue signals trust and clarity, while orange and yellow add vibrancy and cultural energy.

User task flow: Completing a Challenge
User task flows were mapped to understand how users move through key actions within the app. These flows helped simplify complex tasks such as exploring experiences, building itineraries, and adding memories. By visualising each step, friction points were reduced and navigation was made more intuitive.

User task flow: Planning a Trip
SF Pro is used for its clean, modern look and high readability, ensuring content and navigation stay clear and easy to engage with across the app.

The iconography is kept minimal and consistent to support intuitive navigation across the app. Simple forms and clear visual language help users move through the interface effortlessly without distraction.
Icons
Stamp-style illustrations are used to add personality and reinforce the idea of travel, memory, and cultural collection. They act as visual markers throughout the app, making experiences feel collectible and personal.
A design system was created to ensure visual consistency and scalability across the app. It defines typography, colour usage, iconography, and illustration guidelines, helping maintain a cohesive look and feel. This system supports faster design decisions and ensures a unified user experience across all screens.

MID FI SCREENS
The mid-fidelity screens focus on structure, layout, and user flow rather than visual styling. They were used to test navigation clarity, content hierarchy, and key interactions across the app. Feedback at this stage helped refine screen transitions, feature placement, and overall usability before moving to high-fidelity designs.
The high-fidelity screens combine functionality with visual identity to create a cohesive cultural travel experience. Colour, typography, and illustrations enhance clarity while keeping the interface warm and engaging.
